All composers have one goal: to make their music as accessible as possible.
Well, that's not quite it: they want their music performed. But one way to give yourself a boost towards meeting this goal is making sure your music is as clean, clear, and approachable as possible as soon as the performers pick it up. Part of this is basic copy editing, but there are a number of things composers and score engravers can consider and do to make their music more singable and more readable on the page.
Our Tips and Tricks series of posts will feature suggestions based on years of experience performing, writing, engraving, and editing music. Look for images like this one to follow along!
Happy composing!
